Being Sagittarius the sign of expansion, exaggeration, … imagine how dark and negative the effects could be if you had your Sun conjuncting Mars, Saturn, Neptune or Pluto? Not only would you have the traits given by those planets but you would also have them exaggerated, bigger, expanded, …

@ Agony Aunt, I know what you mean. I also have my Sun conjuncting PLuto, both in Sagittarius, house 5. It gives me positive traits… but I also have dark, obscure thoughts. Sometimes I like to think to think how it’d be if I cut myself or killed someone. I know it’s stupid and that’s why I control myself and try to block out those thoughts, but it’s the truth. I’m interested in the dark subjects, the human psyche, …things like that. Then there’s one thing that comes from Pluto and is horrible – the crisis, the mind crisis. I can never stop analyzing myself…. I’m constantly analyzing myself, I just can’t stop… and this has been happening since I was a baby. I have plenty of memories because I have plenty of analyzes I did of myself, plenty of realizations… I just feel like I’m too self-aware of myself and there are things I shouldn’t realize about me, I should just live… but my mind is still there. No I don’t believe so. Sag is ruled by Jupiter which is our Great Gas Giant and is considered a “lucky spot” in our chart. Sag is filled with optimism due to the rulership of Jupiter.

The main issue Sag has to deal with is thinking TOO BIG. A little project becomes a remodeling nightmare. Larger is always better, well, Sag thinks so anyway.

Another issue Sag deals with (well actually LISTENERS of Sag deal with this more) is that Sag loves to talk and when Sag gets an audience that actually “listens” they are in heaven. Sometimes that “talking” gains momentum and now Sag won’t shut up! That is why I lovingly call Sag “The Loudmouths of the Zodiac.” They can get obnoxious and arrogant particularly when someone disagrees with the opinion of Sag.

I have plenty of Sag so I have to include myself in the Loudmouth Category. But as Sag ages they do “lower the volume” which is good for everyone. lol

When aspected by other planets Jupiter tends to bring something “good to the table” because of the optimism and even luck that Jupiter Energy bestows. Jupiter is named “The Greater Fortune” so that says much about its energy.

But you are right that “too much of a good thing isn’t always good” and that is where Jupiter has issues. Being moderate in anything is tough for Sag. So when in hard aspect to other planets there is usually a problem with immoderation. Food, drink, dogmatic religious beliefs,,,Jupiter can sometimes be just “too much” when conjunct, square, or in opposition to another planet in the natal chart AND in compatibility charts too.

I have Jupiter conjunct Pluto in the 6th House and I never had a problem getting a job but something always happened (darn Pluto) that caused me to leave the job and find another. Pluto transforms and I had a career of “transforming” which found me leaving most often through circumstances not of my own doing.

Jupiter and Neptune might get on the “very religious” wagon and/or there could be a heightened desire for drugs and escapism too. So yes this could bring “too much” regarding substance abuse and again, escapism whether it be too much tv, video games, or even sleeping too much.

Jupiter and Mars can give one a “bark is worse than their bite” because Jupiter really doesn’t want to hurt anyone due to their usually strong spirituality. But when in hard aspect and other planets are also in hard aspect to Jupiter and Mars the possibility of too much fighting and too many battles could manifest. Possibly even the sex drive could move into sexual addiction with Jupiter and Mars in hard aspect. Mars does rule sex, along with Pluto.

Saturn is a great stabilizer for Jupiter. Sometimes I feel our creator gives us a Saturn aspect along with our Jupiter because Saturn helps “keep us in line.” Saturn Energy is restricted and limited and takes a long time which is exactly opposite of Jupiter Energy. I have Jupiter square Saturn in my chart so my Jupiter hasn’t had “free reign” due to Saturn’s Energy.

So I now find myself agreeing with you at this point because Jupiter Energy can be “too much” however I do feel that other planets hard aspecting Jupiter will manifest this “danger” more than a well-aspected Jupiter. So there may be danger but most often it is from other hard aspects getting into the “mix” with Jupiter and another planet. I am now on the same page with you. I get it.

Very good thinking and I understand your question the more that I wrote. However Jupiter is known as being our Lucky Spot in our chart but other planets ‘hitting’ Jupiter in hard aspect can magnify difficulties just because Jupiter Energy is so “abundant.” Dangerous? It’s possible but I feel that other hard aspects would tangle up the Energy of Jupiter and THEN the danger could manifest.
