Who’s Fighting Marijuana Legalization in Colorado?

Who’s Fighting Marijuana Legalization In Colorado? – “Marijuana legalization would harm kids, says Smart Colorado, a group advertising stock images of children along with messages asking for voters to reject Amendment 64, a ballot initiative this year to legalize and tax pot. Smart Colorado, led former Republican senate candidate Ken Buck and a team of Republican lobbyists and campaign operatives, hopes to drive down the popularity of Amendment 64 before Election Day. The supposedly family-friendly group, however, relies heavily on funds from a pair of controversial Republican fundraisers who once led a drug rehab center shut down over wide-ranging child abuse scandals. Save Our Society from Drugs, a Florida-based nonprofit founded by Mel and Betty Sembler, has given Smart Colorado contributions totaling 1497 through September, according to The Nation’s review of state finance disclosures. That’s 95 percent of the money raised by the group so far…”.* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down. *Read more here from Lee Fang in The Nation: www.thenation.com Support The Young Turks by Subscribing bit.ly Like Us on Facebook: www.fb.com Follow Us on Twitter: bit.ly Buy TYT Merch: theyoungturks.spreadshirt.com Find out how to watch The Young Turks on Current by clicking here: www.current.com

  • steelcash says:

Take this for what it’s worth… I bet sports online here and there. 5dimes gives you the option to wager whether or not it will be legalized in CO, WA, or OR. And the way the line is moving, most everybody is betting it will pass in CO and WA. WA actually has the highest juice, meaning that it’s a longshot that it won’t pass. Any time you have to put up $600 to win $100, you know you’re betting the heavy favorite. WA is at -600 and CO is? at -245.

Hey Ben …If i had to choose whether i was gonna catch my kid burning a joint and? having a giggle with his friends or hiding in his room greasing his pole to a cartoon made for little girls about multicolored horses …. Id choose the joint ….

  • blitzmarshall says:

In my state, Washington, there’s an initiative to legalize marijuana. It’s Initiative 502, and it has a slight lead so far in the polls. I know it’s only at a state level, and it’s not even a? sure thing, but I’m proud of my state for even voting on this subject. Last I checked, 56% of people would vote to approve it.

  • steven781227 says:

but it shouldn’t be illegal in the first place. You’re not doing anything wrong when you smoke marijuana. And since alcohol is worse, whats wrong with? choosing a healthier alternative?

  • ViscousSky says:

pot isn’t illegal anymore in california. even if you DON’T have a medical marijuana card and you’re caught with anything an ounce or under you’ll not even get a? ticket let alone go to jail. why? because we be getting dooooowwn here, brah.

  • ViscousSky says:

you want kids to do something in excess? make it illegal. anything that shouldn’t be done are the things they want to do. cigarttes, alcohol, drugs. all illegal and all the most abused substances? by kids.

  • HooptieHamburger says:

That dodges the issue I? raised. If you are so kind, why do you want there to be laws that cause people to go to prison for smoking marijuana? You didn’t explain that. I was questioning your kindness, not encouraging people to risk prison while such sick laws exist.

  • benblue3 says:

Then instead of smoking said plant and going to prison, why not be a smart person and don’t do illegal? stuff.

  • HooptieHamburger says:

If you are caring and want to be kind, oppose the imprisoning of people who have done nothing except use a plant? that they like. Have you seen what prison does to families?

  • P4INKiller says:

    Marijuana, addiction?
    Sure? buddy.
